Saint Padre Pio was known for his prayers for healing and his intercession for those suffering. While there are various prayers attributed to him, a common healing prayer is: “O Holy Padre Pio from heaven, I come to you with love and I beg from you to heal the many sick persons of mind and body. I thank you for all miracles you performed in these years, and I thank my Lord and Jesus for everything you have suffered. But I ask you, if it is God’s will, send away all these sicknesses if it is not God’s will that I bear them.”

This is just one of the many Padre Pio Healing Prayers.

Saint Padre Pio’s feast day is September 23, the day of his death in 1968.

Saint Padre Pio, born Francesco Forgione in 1887, was an Italian Capuchin priest known for his piety and mystical experiences. He is famous for bearing the stigmata, the five wounds of Christ, and for his gifts of healing and prophecy.

Early Life: Born Francesco Forgione on May 25, 1887, in Pietrelcina, Italy, he consecrated himself to Jesus at age 5 and joined the Capuchin Friars at 15.
Stigmata: Received the stigmata (bodily marks corresponding to Jesus’ wounds) on September 20, 1918, which remained visible until his death.
Foundation of Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza Hospital: Established a hospital, Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza (Home for the Relief of Suffering), which opened on May 5, 1956 and is today administered by The Vatican.

Some famous quotes include “Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God’s heart,” and “Pray, Hope & don’t worry.”
